About
Pingpod runs unstaffed table tennis venues that you unlock from your phone and play in whenever you like. The brand had to work as a sign on a street, as an app in your hand, and as a room you walk into alone.
Mark
The mark is built from the ball and the table seen end on: a circle held inside a rectangle. It scales from a door decal to a favicon without redrawing, and the same geometry sets out the rest of the identity.
System
A two-colour system does the heavy lifting. One colour for the brand, one for state, and nothing else, so a booking screen, a door light and a wall graphic can all say open, busy or closed without a legend.
Space
The venue is the main piece of brand collateral, so we treated the room as a layout. Court numbering, floor marking, wall type and lighting were drawn together, which means a player who has never been before knows where to go without being told.
Motion
Movement takes its timing from a rally. Transitions are quick, land firmly, and never bounce, which keeps the product feeling like a sport rather than a booking tool.
End
Pingpod ended up with an identity that behaves the same on a phone at midnight as it does on a door in daylight.
