About
Blackbird rewards people for eating at the restaurants they already love. The brand had to feel like it belonged to the restaurants rather than sitting on top of them, while still making progress and status legible at a glance.
Concept
Loyalty usually looks like points. We built the identity around the idea of return instead, treating each visit as a mark on a record rather than a balance in an account, which is closer to how regulars already think about a place.
System
The identity is a container rather than a skin. Each restaurant keeps its own name, type and photography, and Blackbird supplies the frame, the marks and the mechanics, so the app reads as a set of places rather than one brand wearing many hats.
Levels
Status is drawn as a physical accumulation. Each level has its own mark, and the marks stack visibly, so you can see where you stand without reading a number or opening a menu.
Motion
Earning is the moment worth animating, so it is the only one that gets a full sequence. Everything else moves quickly and quietly, which keeps the reward from being cheapened by repetition.
End
The result is a loyalty product that feels like part of a room you already go to.
