About
Zed is building financial tools for the Philippines. The brand had to read as modern without reading as imported, and work for people whose first and only experience of banking is a phone.
Mark
The mark is drawn to survive a small screen and a cheap print run in equal measure. It holds at the size of a notification badge and still works stamped on a receipt, because both are places this brand actually appears.
Colors
The palette is drawn from the country rather than from the category. Finance defaults to navy and grey everywhere in the world; this one is warmer and higher in contrast, which makes it legible in daylight and distinct in a crowded app drawer.
Product
Balances, transfers and confirmations were designed for low bandwidth and older hardware. Every state has a form that works without images loading, which is a design constraint rather than a fallback.
Application
The system extends to the places money is actually handled: agent counters, printed slips, SMS. Those carry the same type and the same phrasing as the app, so a transaction feels like one service throughout.
End
Zed ended up with an identity that belongs where it operates rather than one borrowed from somewhere else.
