Branding
About
Maya is a business down the street from us, and the partnership worked the way those do: closely, quickly, and with everything getting made rather than presented.
Mark
The mark is drawn from the way the name is said aloud, with the weight on the first syllable. It is wide, low and warm, and it holds up painted on a window as well as it does on a screen.
Colors
The palette came out of the room itself. We matched it to the materials already in the space rather than choosing colours and then asking the space to accommodate them, which is why the brand looks native the moment you walk in.
System
A small kit does everything: one typeface in two weights, the mark, and three colours. That constraint is deliberate, because everything after our involvement would be made in-house and at speed.
Application
Signage, menus, packaging and social were designed as one set in one pass, so the pieces fit together rather than being reconciled later.
End
A neighbourhood business now has an identity that can be made and remade without calling anyone.
